The Halston – Apartment Living with a Social Heart
Construction is now complete on The Halston, a 128-apartment residential project in North Strathfield, delivered in collaboration with Urban Property Group.
The project is shaped by its central courtyard, a shared, landscaped space that anchors the three surrounding buildings. More than an amenity, the courtyard acts as the social and spatial core, encouraging connection, providing visual relief, and structuring the architecture around it.
A robust brick podium grounds the buildings at street level, bringing weight and permanence. Above, lightweight equitone panels offer texture, durability, and contrast. Recessed balconies, rhythmically placed windows, and integrated shading elements break down the massing and provide a layered response to the mixed-scale character of the neighbourhood.
Internally, the apartments prioritise flexibility, efficiency, and liveability. One-third of the homes are three- and four-bedroom layouts, many with dual courtyards up to 100 square metres—private outdoor spaces rarely seen in multi-residential settings. Wide entries, generous storage, utility rooms, and separate laundry drying areas are standard, reflecting the realities of family life.
Access and equity are built in. Several apartments are fully NDIS-compliant, with equal access to daylight, ventilation, and private open space.
The Halston is also a milestone—it is the first infill affordable housing project completed under the current NSW state initiative. It demonstrates that design quality and affordability can coexist, delivering not just housing, but a resilient and inclusive community.
