The integration of the project into its local character was a key consideration in the design. The form and materiality pay specific attention to the immediacy of the adjacent multi residential development and the opposing low rise residential houses and seeks to mould a building that sits respectfully within those disparate neighbours.

The project was conceived of as a courtyard form set around a generous landscaped heart. This layered ground plane becomes the foundation for future living and the mechanism for maximising resident amenity. The architecture is scaled to be harmonious with the courtyard, and creates a framework for allowing community to thrive whilst enhancing the daily experience for future residents.

The architecture uses a curated horizontal form for the modulation of its façades. These modules are then articulated at a finer scale through the expression of the unit-plan behind, creating a veil of solid and void through the pattern of habitation.

The apartments are designed with a sharp focus on space and how we might best occupy that for complex family life. Apartments are layered with a flexible living space that allows residents to appropriate for their needs regardless of their stage of life.

The development befits the character of what modern housing can become, the future imbued with the past contemporaneously.

Fuse Architects acknowledges the First Nations peoples, the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation, as the Traditional Custodians of the diverse lands where we live, work, and create. We admire their deep and enduring connections to the land, sea, and community. We are committed to meaningful dialogue, as we work together to honour the past and shape a harmonious future. We pay our respects to the wisdom of their Elders, past, present, and emerging.
