A new organic waste treatment building is proposed to be developed on the site bordered by Church Street and a rail corridor. Located just 750m from Lidcombe train station and across from Rookwood Cemetery, the site is surrounded by large industrial lots and transportation infrastructure, making it ideal for this development.

The proposed building includes a large storage facility for handling organic waste and a level of commercial offices for administrative and management functions. One of the standout features is the rooftop terrace, providing a communal garden space for workers and visitors. The building’s exterior is designed to be visually striking, with polycarbonate panels and metal-textured reflective panels and sheeting, framed by a dark grey metal-framed entry portal.

Location:Lidcombe, NSW
Date:2022
Site Area:4,457 m2
Floor Area:3,394 m2
Density:2,660 m2 industrial – 734 m2 office

Under the building, a pop of colour can be found in the form of a super graphic carpark. With expressive, highly functional paint graphics applied to car spaces, walls, and the floor, this space adds a unique touch while still maintaining a relatively understated appearance.

The proposed development is not only a sustainable solution for organic waste treatment, but also a visually striking and functional space for its occupants. With the rooftop terrace and colourful undercroft, workers and visitors will have unique and inviting spaces to enjoy, while the building’s exterior will make a bold statement in the area.
