Frankie: Competition-Winning Co-Living
Fuse Architects is pleased to share a design competition win for Frankie, a mixed-use co-living and park development for Develotek, located along Parramatta Road in the Burwood–Concord precinct.
The project brings together 180 co-living rooms with flexible interiors, 290 m² of retail, and generous shared facilities including communal living areas, a co-working hub, co-gym, and communal balconies. This vertical network supports fluid movement between work, leisure, and relaxation, encouraging interaction while respecting privacy.
Most rooms are oriented north to capture daylight, gardens, and views stretching to Parramatta River, Sydney Harbour, and the Blue Mountains.
The southern façade is designed as a quiet, opaque barrier, shielding the building from the road while turning life inward to community and landscape. A recycled brick podium ties the building to its context, while coloured proprietary panels deliver cohesion, rhythm, and robust quality.
At the rear, a landscaped park provides a resident retreat and hub, hosting gatherings, outdoor exercise, and social events.
Frankie reflects our belief in designing smart to build smart, creating adaptable, resilient places where context, climate, and community converge.
